Accident Only Insurance for Pets Over 10 Years
Vetsure offer ‘Accident Only’ insurance for pets over 10 years of age. At Vetsure, we want to always be able to care for a pet regardless of their age, so if a customer does not have any insurance in place before their pet turned 10, customers can still ensure they have some cover to protect them in the case of an accident.
Vetsure’s Accident Only policy provides cover for accidental injury only. For example, this would cover treatment following a road traffic accident, , bone fractures, lacerations, burns and such like. This policy would not cover illnesses or conditions that have an underlying medical cause such as cruciate ligament rupture and patella luxation.
Many insurers stop offering policies for pets once they are classed as a ‘Senior’ Pet, which is often when they turn 8 years of age. If the relevant insurance policy is not purchased prior to this cut-off point, it can be a very stressful time for the customer trying to find the appropriate cover for their pet.
With Vetsure, cover is offered for any pets up to 10 years of age and, provided premiums are kept up to date, cover will continue to be provided for the remaining life of the pet and cover can be brought to those pets over 10 years old too.
Policy holders will receive three main benefits with a Vetsure policy. Firstly, your customers pet will be covered for as long as they hold a policy with us and the vet fee benefit limit will recharge at each renewal so cover is continuous. Along with this the customer can claim against an unlimited number of unrelated conditions per year up to the benefit limit. Finally, we guarantee to offer direct claims at our accredited practices, which helps make the process stress free for the policy holder.
As standard with Accident Only Over 10s insurance policy, a customer would receive:
- £2,000 in Veterinary Fees, per condition, per policy period.
- £1,000 towards Complementary medicine per policy period.
- £1,000 for Death of Pet.
- £200 for Transportation Costs per policy period.
Then, choose an Excess Level to suit their budget. We have three levels of Vet Fees excess that can be chosen from: £69, £109 or £149.
These are collected once only per condition. Not per condition per year as is the case with many other pet insurance providers.
The Accident Only policy can then be tailored to suit the customer and the pet’s individual requirements.
Vetsure’s ‘Additional Benefits Cover’ includes the following benefits:
- Emergency Boarding Kennel / Cattery Fees
- Holiday cancellation
- Accidental Damage
- Personal Accident
- Dog Walker
- Overseas Travel (Vet Fees, Quarantine, Lost Documents.)
- Public Liability (for dogs only) up to £2 million per incident is also an optional benefit. This provides cover for damages and costs arising from ownership of a dog.
There is also the option to increase your benefit limit from £2,000 to £7,000 if the customer feels they need more cover available. This is easily done by calling the customer executive team and informing them of this chosen option.
Vetsure offer Preventative Care Vouchers with selected accredited clinics to help you save on your pet’s preventative healthcare needs. These vouchers are worth at least £160 per year. If you are interested in more information regarding this please contact us. Please note Terms and conditions apply.
Remember, your customers can still insure their pets for Accident AND Illness cover (under our Premier and Premier Plus policies) policies up to their 10th birthday.
