EMS isn’t just a necessity, it’s something that can act as a job interview for you! If you get on well at your EMS placement and the practice thought you were a good fit too then there’s a high chance you’ll be invited for a graduate position within that practice.
The Vetsure network is a friendly and supportive group of independently owned veterinary practices. Our members are committed to supporting and developing the next generation of vets by providing engaging EMS placements. Our overriding goal is to help vet students have a great transition from the protective environment of vet schools, right through to their first year as a fully qualified vet!
All accredited Vetsure Graduate Friendly Practices are very used to working with the next generation of vets and are committed to supporting students wanting to undertake Extra Mural Studies (EMS). Both student and practice, of course, have a big role to play in making EMS a success, but if students come with the right attitude, they should experience a highly supportive environment where they can expect to gain understanding of a variety of clinical and management techniques.
